Cancer network ramping up for annual walkathon
The annual LACiNg Up for Cancer Walk to benefit Lamoille Area Cancer Network is scheduled for Saturday, June 22.
Held at the Peoples Academy track in Morrisville, the event celebrates, honors and remembers those touched by cancer while raising money for the network. Money is raised through corporate sponsorships, walker sponsors and sale of luminaries — white bags in memory or honor of those touched by cancer — which allows the network to provide grants of support to those living in the Lamoille County area and surrounding communities who are undergoing treatment for cancer.
Why support this community event? While there are several smaller events throughout the year that benefit the Lamoille Area Cancer Network, the LACiNg Up walk is its signature event. Since the first walk in 2003, the event has raised over $3 million….More From The News & Citizen
LACN’s goal to help lessen the impact of cancer by acting as an emergency fund source to assist families and individuals.
In addition, many thanks go out to the members & volunteers at Lamoille Area Cancer Network, as all services and time are 100% donated, allowing 100% of all donations to be used to help our neighbors taking on cancer.
